ABOUT ME: Designing and Making
I graduated from the University of Hertfordshire with a First Class Honours Degree in Contemporary Applied Arts, specialising in textiles.
As an artist, I am interested in provoking a positive emotional response from the viewer. My passion is taking photographs of flowers and plants and it's very important to me to use my own photos as the starting point for my work, creating beautiful images that I then embellish with stitch, beading and embroidery, to create prints or pieces of textile art. I like to work with colour, texture and form.
My work encompasses traditional and modern techniques and I combine digital printing with hand stitch and embroidery to create and enhance the designs and make them unique. I design my prints to work across different product areas and I like to work in luxurious and natural fabrics such as silk, velvet and linen. Everything, where possible is finished by hand.
